The Beginning of AREM: Chapter 1 from the Founder
Share
Hi, this is the story as to how AREM was built
AREM began with a simple idea: to create considered pieces for the way we travel now. Pieces that feel useful, beautiful and quietly distinctive. Not designed for one journey, but for all the small rituals that come with moving through the world.
Our debut product is AREM The Oat Leather Travel Pouch.
Choosing to launch with one product was intentional. I wanted the first AREM piece to express the brand clearly, without noise. The Oat is understated, tactile and made to become part of your everyday rhythm, whether it is holding the essentials inside a carry-on, keeping a work bag organised or travelling somewhere new.
As a founder, this first drop carries more than a product. It holds the decisions, revisions, doubts and moments of clarity that happen long before a launch becomes visible. Building a brand asks you to move constantly between the smallest details and the biggest questions. What should this feel like? What deserves to exist? What do I want AREM to stand for?
For me, the answer keeps returning to intention. Fewer, better things. Thoughtful design. A sense of possibility rooted in travel, even on ordinary days.
Launching AREM has also meant learning to let go of perfection. At some point, the private idea has to become a public beginning. The first drop is not the finished story. It is the opening chapter, and I am proud that it begins with The Oat.
To everyone who has followed, encouraged, shared or simply taken a moment to look: thank you. Your attention means more than you might know at this stage.
Here’s to first journeys, and to everything still to come.
